Message from the president……

The Installation of Officers of the MMA for 2009 was held on February 7, 2009.  The evening was a great night for everyone in attendance.  The Installing team was WGSD, W.B. Dean Barr, WGJD, W.B. Ray Lemons, assisted by W.B. C. William Meyer BGP District 51 and W.B. Jim Miller BGP District 50.  A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to W.B. William Bean from Findlater Lodge #475.  W.B. Bean was called by the Great Architect to the Celestial Lodge on January 6, 2009.

Two presentations were also made for the Roy Woodworth Meritorious Service Award.  The recipients were W.B. Joel Clement from Hiram #110 and W.B. John Miller from Golden Ark #595, for their dedicated service to the Craft as well as to their communities.

The MMA officers traveled to Roseville Lodge #522 on Thursday, February 12, 2009 for an E.A. Degree.  W.B. John Miller did the Apron Presentation and W.B. Don Thamarus Jr. did the E.A. Working Tools, assisting the Lodge in their work.  It was a great night with Brotherhood and Fellowship enjoyed by all.

I would like to give a BIG THANKS to W.B. John Miller for agreeing to be the MMA Secretary for 2009 and for getting our website back up and running in January.  W.B. John has taken off with a running start getting updated information on our website and the first newsletter mailed out in over four years, GREAT JOB - W.B. John.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Senior Warden Dinners in 2009.

Important Information…..

As I am sure you are all aware, the date of the Olive Branch 542 SW Dinner has been changed to 12/JUN/09. Please be sure to mark this date on your calendar.

 

Our website is up and running. We are working on a new look and feel. Please visit us at www.masonicmasters.com . We have been receiving some good feedback and ideas from all of you that have visited us. One of the recent suggestions was to include a list of Lodge events, by district, for the upcoming month. We will be working on this, and hope to have it ready by the first week in March. Please help us out by sending us your Lodge events as far as possible ahead of the scheduled date, and we will, as promised, publish them on the site. This will allow each of us to know what is happening in and around the area, and hopefully bring more of us out for more fellowship. We also received a request for a link to mailing labels. We are working on this feature and are looking into the privacy concerns, as well as the formatting specs. As soon as we get this feature ready, WB John will let everyone know that it is done.

Note from the Secretary………………..

I received an e-mail the other day regarding this newsletter, and how it is sent. I was asked if it could be sent via e-mail instead of US Mail. This actually got me thinking (I know that comes as a shock to some of you – that I could actually think – LOL) about creating an e-mail group just for this reason. Please let me know how you would prefer to receive this newsletter, e-mail or US Mail, by sending an e-mail to masonicmasters@wideopenwest.com or a note to the address listed in this letter. I will publish the results both on the website and in an upcoming newsletter.

There were a few member Lodges that did not return their Officer’s Information Form, which has delayed publication of the 2009 Roster Book. I have done my best to acquire all of the needed information, and, by the time that you receive this letter, have sent the book out for printing. If there are any mistakes, please be sure to let me know so that I can at least get the web version corrected.

There are also a few member Lodges that have not yet sent in their dues. According to the Policies of the MMA, any Lodge that has not paid their dues can be removed from membership in the Association. If your Lodge has not yet done so, please have your dues sent in as soon as possible. I will be sending a reminder in the next few weeks, to those that have not yet paid.

As you can see, there are still dinners yet to be scheduled. Once your Lodge has scheduled their SW Dinner, be sure to let us know the date so that we can publish it in the newsletter, and post it on the website.
